Katy Roofing Company
Katy Roofing,
Water and All.
Katy roofs have a job most Texas roofs do not: managing extraordinary volumes of rainfall in a part of the metro that has learned, expensively, what water can do.
Rainfall is the headline in Katy
West Harris and Fort Bend counties have absorbed some of the region's most significant rainfall events. For roofing, the practical consequence is not dramatic — it is cumulative. Roofs here are asked to shed extremely high rainfall rates, repeatedly, and the components that fail under that load are almost always drainage and detail components rather than field shingles.
We spend more time on gutters, downspouts, valley detail and eave flashing in Katy than almost anywhere else we work. When rainfall intensity exceeds what a drainage system can move, water backs up at the eave and gets under the shingle edge. In a normal storm that is a non-event. In a Katy downpour, it is how fascia rots and how soffit stains appear.
Newer homes, newer problems
Katy's western growth — Cinco Ranch, Cross Creek Ranch, Firethorne, Elyson — means a great many roofs here are under fifteen years old. Younger roofs bring a different inspection profile: less wear, but more installation-defect findings. Improperly placed nails, starter shingles cut from field stock, and ventilation sized by habit rather than by attic volume are all things we find on roofs that are otherwise in good condition. Caught early, most are inexpensive to correct.
Heat and the west-facing slope
Katy's newer subdivisions often have large, unshaded west-facing roof planes — mature tree cover has not caught up with the housing. Those slopes take the full afternoon sun load and consistently age faster than the rest of the roof. We check them specifically.

We serve Katy and west Harris County, alongside Houston, Cypress, The Woodlands and Sugar Land.

Recent local projects
This section is reserved for photographs and short write-ups of completed Katy projects. Add real work here as it is finished — genuine local project evidence is one of the strongest local ranking signals available, and one of the few that cannot be faked convincingly.

Common Questions
Straight Answers.
Sometimes, yes. Where rainfall intensity regularly exceeds what a five-inch system can move, upsizing gutters or adding downspouts meaningfully reduces the water backing up at the eave. We will tell you if we think your drainage is undersized for the roof area.
Often more than you would expect. Younger roofs tend to show installation defects rather than wear — and those are cheapest to correct early, before they cause secondary damage.
On an unshaded roof, noticeably. Afternoon sun in a Texas summer is the harshest exposure a roof plane gets, and it is common to find one slope several years ahead of the others in apparent age.
